    Dr. Lee,
I want to get botox for my jawline however I live in India and I do not know whether this kind of procedure has been done, it is mostly used for wrinkles. How should I go about telling my doctor to inject botox in my jaw muscle if he/she has never done this kind of procedure before?
    Thank you.

@kingtutsmuse They can go online and research in the medical journals. The dosing has been worked out for Botox and Dysport (Relaxin). I’m not familiar with the dosing with other brands of botulinum.

I have a heart-shape face that’s become rounder over the last few years. I’m not sure if it’s from weight gain or habits like chewing/biting my lip, chewing lots of gum, etc. How do I know if I need buccal fat removal or Botox to slim it back down? Thanks! =)

    How long it will last?

  5. DrCharlesLee says:

@kingtutsmuse Find a doctor who performs surgery in this area. They will know the anatomy and can inject botox safely.

  6. DrCharlesLee says:

@kewl321 Not many people need buccal fat removal. That fat is in the front part of the cheek. The muscle is more in the back.

  7. DrCharlesLee says:

    @robster2408 Yes you are correct.

Wow, the first girl was really pretty. :)

if we achieve our desired results within three injections, do we have to come back for more “maintenance” injections? will our face come back to our original shape?

  10. DrCharlesLee says:

@whatsgoingonyall It varies depending on how much you grind your teeth or use your jaw muscles. If you do not use it much, then it may take a few years to return to the original size.

  11. Monatee says:

    how popular is jawline shaving?

  12. DrCharlesLee says:

@Monatee Pretty popular. Probably among the top 5 surgical procedures on the face.

  13. kimchee80 says:

is jawline reduction botox much more expensive than other botox treatments?

  14. DrCharlesLee says:

@kimchee80 The cost is the same as any other botox treatment.

  15. DrCharlesLee says:

@Sven828 If it’s an experienced injector, I would not worry.

  16. karlaecisneros says:

Is it only one time a person would need to get an injection in order to get the results? or is it a series of injections?
Dr. Charles where do you have your office?
    Thanks!

  17. bummer4451 says:

    Dr Charles,
How long will the result of the first session last? After reducing the jawline with botox, will it return to the former shape? Is it necessary to come back for more injections?

  18. DrCharlesLee says:

@karlaecisneros One injection usually lasts 6months. After 4-5 injections, most people have a very long lasting result – a few years or more. We are located in Beverly Hills – 310-271-5954; 436 N. Roxbury Drive, #207; Beverly Hills, CA 90210

  19. DrCharlesLee says:

@bummer4451 On average, an injection lasts 6months. With periodic injections twice yearly, it often becomes permanently smaller. If you discontinue injections within the first 2-3 sessions, the muscle usually comes back to its original size.

  20. bummer4451 says:

    Dr Charles,
Thank you for replying to my query. I have another question. Is Botox for jawline reduction safe for pregnant women or women planning to conceive?

  21. DrCharlesLee says:

@bummer4451 It should not be used if you know you are pregnant.
